MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS

Your weekly dose of wisdom from the road...

Hi, Friends!

Welcome back to Somewhere Road. Today, we are kicking off our NEW Motivational Mondays: wisdom from the road series.

So many amazing conversations and takeaways have happened over the first thirty-five podcast episodes and we wanted to start sprinkling in these little punches from the road to help keep you motivated on your own journey. We hope these little nuggets from our episodes will set your week off in a truly impactful and positive way.

Today, we're kicking this series off with one that is really going to make ya think about how you've been approaching the choices you make in your life!

"In the game of life, you gotta play chess not checkers.

Choose your moves wisely."

This takeaway comes out of podcast Episode No. 22, "Spice Up Your Life—This thing called Adulting & rolling the dice on your dreams."

In “Spice Up Your Life,” Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle converse about this thing called “adulting” when it comes to legacy, investments and walking a different road. From approaching life as a game of Chess to betting on yourself to knowing you can’t have a rainbow without the rain, this is a feel good episode packed with valuable awakenings for your own life!

But what does it mean to play chess, not checkers?

Well, if you're sitting there wondering that question, think about when we play these games for fun.

Checkers is often a quick game played with narrow-minded, impulsive moves being made only one move ahead of time, hoping to beat your opponent with a quick win.

Chess is a long game. It's strategic. And, while of course anyone who is competitive wants to win in the end, often it's the more calculated moves that get you the outcome you were hoping for in the game of life.

Your goals, your dreams, the success you want to achieve—none of that comes from quick, impulsive moves. You need to strategically plan out not just the big thing but the steps, or the moves rather, you're going to take to get you to the end goal. You need to plan these things out, understand the art of patience, stay consistent and keep reminding yourself that it's not a short-term win but, rather, the endgame.

Whether it's your daily habits or even the people you surround yourself with, when it comes to the game of life—choose your moves wisely.

We hope you enojyed this little dose of motivation to kickstart your week!

We had a down week last week but a friendly reminder for you that a new full podcast episode will be dropping every Wednesday and a new quick Power Walk airing every Sunday.
